Click on Azhagi's(#) shortcut icon in the Desktop. Azhagi's shortcut icon will
be available in StartMenu and Quicklaunch bar also. You can avail them too.
# By mistake, do not click on Azhagi's Installation/Setup File again. This will
only start reinstalling Azhagi.
Azhagi application will get started and Azhagi's operating icon (a small image)
will appear in the right bottom of your desktop/computer screen, most often
next to the date/time indicator.
Azhagi password screen will also come up. Do *NOT* enter any text in the
password box. Just click OK on the password screen and you are ready to
work with Azhagi in Trial mode.
Step 2 : Operating Azhagi
Type in the top screen (English Text area) of Azhagi to effect Transparent/DualScreen (English text will be "visible") Transliteration
Keep the top screen empty and type in the bottom screen (Tamil Text area)
to effect NonTransparent/SingleScreen (English text "will not be visible")
Transliteration
To make Azhagi appear as one single full screen during the above 'Single
Screen' Transliteration, click on the top menu 'Preferences'. Then, Click on
'Screen Appearance' and choose 'Tamil Text Area alone will be visible'.
To make Azhagi appear as two screens during 'Dual Screen' Transliteration,
click on the top menu 'Preferences'. Then, Click on 'Screen Appearance' and
choose 'English Text Area and TTA alone will be visible'.
To achieve the above two, you can also right click (NOT left-click) on Azhagi's
operating icon (in the right bottom of your screen) and move to
'Transliteration mode' to choose 'NonTransparent' or 'Transparent'.
You can always use F10 as a toggle to alternately type in Tamil and English.
Start ANY external application, say MS-Word. Change that application's
font to 'SaiIndira'. Press F10. (Azhagi's operating icon at the right bottom
of your screen will turn red in color, to indicate that you have correctly
pressed F10). Type in English and you will see it in Tamil. Press F10 again and
you can type in English as usual. For Direct typing in Unicode, read the topic
on Unicode Typing.
Right click (NOT left-click) on the operating icon of Azhagi (i.e. the small
image you see at the right bottom of your desktop/computer screen). A menu
will pop-up from which you can avail many tools and utilities.
As an example of what you can avail from the above-said menu, you can
right-click on the operating icon to pop-up the menu and move to 'Typing
mode' to choose 'Tamil Typewriter - Traditional'. Thereafter you can use
Azhagi as a Tamil Typewriter equivalent.
The in-built 'HELP' (press F1 to access it) available with Azhagi is extensive
and comprehensive. Even 'Menu by Menu' explanations are given. Right click
on any area of Azhagi to have 'What's this?' pop up too.
An online FAQ is also available which gives 'step by step' instructions for
various operations.
You can operate the downloaded free trial of Azhagi itself in three different
modes - Basic, Standard and Professional - to help you decide which version
of Azhagi to purchase. To select one of the modes, right click on the operating
icon of Azhagi (at the right bottom of your desktop). A menu will pop up. In
that menu, move your mouse to 'Operating mode' and there you can select
one of the operating modes.
Azhagi is "overloaded" with features. As you keep exploring it, you will be
amazed at the various features it offers - For ex: Search & Replace, Reverse
Transliteration, Word Count, Insertion of user-defined Tamil
texts/paragraphs, Extended key-mappings, 'Transparent' Chatting etc. etc.
Explore Azhagi and use it to its FULL potential.
All the features are available for evaluation in the trial version itself. But, in
trial version, you can type only around 100 characters in a single session and
each session will last only for 5 to 10 mts. Any of these restrictions will not
be there if you register Azhagi.
