Online payment using your mobile phone - Working procedure

1. Once you are in the 'Billing Details Entry' page, out of the 5 payment options provided, please select 'Pay by PayMate (Mobile Payment)'.
   
   
2. A screen will open requesting you to enter your mobile number.
   
   
3. After you enter your mobile number, you will receive the following message in your mobile:
   "[Website name] would like to charge you [amount]. To proceed and authorize payment, reply to this SMS by sending PAY [ABC (Alpha code)*] [PIN ('PayMate'-Issued Secret PIN)] within 3 minutes** or this transaction will be terminated."
   
   
4. You have to reply to the SMS by sending the following message:
   "PAY [Alpha code as it appears in the SMS. e.g. ABC] [the 4-digit 'PayMate'-Issued PIN. e.g. 1234]".
   i.e. you have to reply back as "PAY ABC 1234” (Note: ABC and 1234 are example alpha code and PIN resp.)
   
   
5. Within a few seconds, you will receive a confirmation via SMS informing whether the transaction was successful or declined.
   
   

* ABC is a dynamic 3-alphabet Alpha code. This code is unique for each transaction and thus secures the transaction against fraud.
** The time limit is included for security purposes. If you do not respond within the stipulated time, the transaction will be terminated and you will have to initiate a fresh transaction.
