How to do 'Find & Replace' directly in MS-Word, Excel, Notepad etc.?

Note the following carefully at the outset:

1. 'Find & Replace' in Tamil in MS-Word, Excel etc. is possible only if you do 'Unicode Tamil Input', which facility is available only in Professional version of Azhagi.

2. Using Azhagi, Unicode input in external applications is possible in Windows XP/2K but not in Win 9X/ME.

3. While Office2002 and later versions support Unicode typing, Office 2000 and earlier versions may not support.

If the above conditions are satisfied, then you can avail the "Power of Unicode" and do 'Find & Replace', 'File/folder naming', 'Sorting' etc. in Tamil too.

To achieve 'Find & Replace' in Tamil:

Open your application (say Notepad or Excel or MS-Word) and start typing directly in Unicode Tamil (To know how to type in Unicode in Ms-Word etc., click here).

Once you wish to 'find' or 'find & replace' a Tamil word, click on 'Edit->Find' or 'Edit- >Replace'.

In the dialog box which opens, in the 'Find' or 'Replace' area, type your text in Unicode Tamil much the same way you do it elsewhere. i.e. press 'F10', see the azhagi icon changing color to red and type in Tamil. Thats all to it.
