Azhagi's Gujarati Transliteration Scheme - Classic Style
Gujarati can be typed (vide transliteration) using Azhagi, following the English to Gujarati transliteration scheme/rules (i.e. English-to-Gujarati letter/character/key mappings) given below.
If the characters in this page are not visible in Gujarati, then it means you do not have even one suitable Unicode Gujarati font in your system. To download and install atleast one FREE Unicode Gujarati font, kindly visit this page or see azhagi.com's unicodeff.html for links to many such pages.

Important note on "t, T, d, D, th, Th, dh, Dh"
In Azhagi's Unicode Editor, if you click on 'Tools->Options' and select the 'modern' style ('classic' style is the default), then the mappings for "t, T, d, D, th, Th, dh, Dh" change (To view the key-mappings table for the same, please visit multi.html and click on 'modern style' link given under your chosen language). In Azhagi+, you can effect this same setting by clicking 'Tools->Options->Other Languages'.
Important note on 'ch'
In Azhagi's Unicode Editor, if you click on 'Tools->Options' and tick the 'ch, Ch' checkbox, then 'ch' would also take the same mapping as that of 'c'.

|Consonants with nukta (dot)|
ક઼ = kxa, ખ઼ = khxa, ગ઼ = gxa, જ઼ = jxa/za, ડ઼ = Dxa, ઢ઼ = Dhxa
ફ઼ = phxa/fa, ય઼ = yxa
ૐ = Aum/oum, શ્રિ = shri, ઽ = Sx
|Conjuncts (Consonant Clusters)|
The consonant conjuncts get formed automatically as you keep typing your words.
૧ = 1x, ૨ = 2x, ૩ = 3x, ૪ = 4x, ૫ = 5x
૬ = 6x, ૭ = 7x, ૮ = 8x, ૯ = 9x, ० = 0x
- x when applied after certain Gujarati letters modifies them. For e.g.
kruxpaa = કૃપા, Rux = ૠ, Sx = ઽ (avagraha), ૧ = १ (Gujarati numeral 1)
- Whenever x does not take the role of a modifier, it just prints 'ક્ષ'. For e.g.
laxman = લક્ષ્મન
- ` when applied before certain Gujarati consonants modifies them. For e.g.
`g = ઙ, `j = ઞ, j`j = જ્ઞ
- ` when applied between certain Gujarati consonants (like k`h, g`h, t`h, d`h, etc.) helps them to form their natural conjuncts. For e.g.
bakkiMghaam = બક્કિંઘામ whereas bakkiMg`haam = બક્કિંગ્હામ
- X can be applied between Gujarati consonants to help form their half-consonants. For e.g.
rakshaa = રક્ષા whereas rakXshaa = રક્શા
- XX can be applied between Gujarati consonants to help form consonants with halant symbol. For e.g.
baakyaa = બાક્યા whereas baakXXyaa = બાક્યા
- X (or XX) can be applied between certain Gujarati vowels (say 'ai' or 'ou') to help them get separated into their component vowels. For e.g.
priyaiMDiyaa = પ્રિયૈંડિયા whereas priyaXiMDiyaa = પ્રિયઇંડિયા
